About The Author

     Lorraine Dowdy Gordon is a writer, life coach, and workshop leader who loves using her talents to make the world a better place.....starting at home. Her life's work is helping people become self aware and live meaningful, congruent lives. Lorraine believes in the power of words, thoughts, faith, imagination, and love and their influence on behavior.

     Lorraine is the creator of Kaleidoscope Consulting, LLC and Kaleidoscope Publishing, LLC. She lives in Maryland with her husband and two daughters.

     Ilustrator Mavis Turner is an artist dedicated to pouring her life's experiences into her work. She was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio, before moving to the Washington, DC metropolitan area to pursue a career in art. Mavis received her BA degree from West Liberty State College and has been working as a graphic designer, illustrator, and art instructor for 25 years.

     Mavis is the founder of a nonprofit organization -- MTC Art Studios, Inc. -- that cultivates the artistic gift of young people throughout her local communities, preparing them to enter college or start their own business in art. Students learn entrepreneurship skills and how to give back to the community. Mavis is married, has two children, and lives in Clinton, Maryland.
